Theta Upsilon 25th Anniversary Dinner

Former Grand Consul Bob Jones being presented with a commemorative Yale sweater.

The 25th anniversary dinner at the Omni was a great success. We raised more than 10,000 dollars for the Theta Upsilon capital campaign. The chapter thanks its generous alumni for their support. The photo album from the 25th anniversary dinner at The Omni is now available for viewing here.

Thanks again for all the alums and undergraduates who made this event possible.

In Memoriam, Alex King

Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I report that Alex King has become our second past Consul to pass into the Chapter Eternal.

Alex, a member of the Sigma pledge class and consul for the fall ’99 term was a constant quiet presence in his time as an undergraduate, showing an absolute dedication to the chapter from the time he pledged in 1996 to his graduation in 2000. When the house looked like it might have an unsustainable number of brothers, Alex chose to live in New Haven and commute to his internship in New York rather than let the chapter down.

More recently, he was an integral part of the financial efforts to rehabilitate the house.

He was a good friend and much-loved brother, and the world has lost some of its luster without him.

If you would like to leave condolences (public or private), you can do so through the funeral home at http://www.memorialfd.com/index.cfm

The family would also welcome cards sent to:

PO Box 325

Lerona WV 25971.

The following is excerpted from the obituary in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph:

Photo update

Work continues over at 33 Lynwood Place. The terrible 3rd-floor carpeting, ruined in the flood, has happily been replaced with shiny new hardwood flooring. Man, is the third floor going to look nice when this is done.
